One of Karl Lagerfeld’s longtime muses has arrived at the Met Gala.
Kristen Stewart hit the red carpet on the first Monday in May wearing a Chanel bolero and black pants and accessorized with loafers as well as a belt and tie from the brand’s archives.
The “Twilight” star debuted an extremely short, spiky haircut and filled in her eyebrows for a bolder, masculine look.
Stewart’s ensemble was right in line with the Met Gala 2023 theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” which honors the work of the late Chanel creative director, who died in 2019.
She started walking the carpet alone but paused for a photo with famed filmmaker Sofia Coppola.
A Chanel ambassador since 2013, Stewart, 33, regularly pops up in the brand’s campaigns and front rows, and enjoyed a close relationship with Lagerfeld.
Since making her Met Gala debut in Chanel in 2010, she’s worn the label for most of her appearances at fashion’s biggest night — including in 2021, when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction inside the museum.

While chatting with fellow celebs at Chanel’s table, Stewart took off her pink lace jacket and wound up showing way more skin than she intended.
“There was a beautiful young tennis player [Emma Raducanu] and a young actress [“Gossip Girl” reboot star Whitney Peak],” the “Spencer” star told People later in 2021 of the incident.
“I’m talking to them, saying, ‘Welcome, I’ve done this a couple times,’ and they look like I’m scaring them. I look down, and literally my [nipple] is in their faces. I was like, ‘Okay, sorry, I’ll put that away now.”
Here’s hoping Stewart enjoys a nip slip-free evening this time around.
