A 2010 video of Taylor Swift impersonating a Minnesota soccer mom went viral ahead of her rumored boyfriend Travis Kelce’s game against the Vikings Sunday.
Prefacing her impression, the Grammy winner told hosts of BBC’s “The Switch” that her accent was what the Minnesota “soccer mom” trope “sounds like” in her “head.”
During the wholesome clip, the “Blank Space” songstress, who was in her early 20s at the time, pretended to be a mother recalling how she nearly hit a deer on her way to pick up her son from soccer.
“I was driving down the road the other day and I was in my van … this dang deer just jumped out in front of my van and I didn’t even know what was going on,” Swift said with her best impression of the Midwestern accent.
“And I was just trying to pick up Timmy from soccer,” she continued in character. “And I didn’t ask for that deer to go out in the middle of the road. If I hit the deer, then I got that on my mind all day and I gotta clean off my car.”
The interviewers and friends in the studio cheered and laughed when the “Bad Blood” singer wrapped up her impersonation.
The decade-old clip has found its way back into the conversation as Swift’s rumored beau’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, faced off against the Minnesota Vikings at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.
Despite attending Kelce’s last two games, the “Lavender Haze” singer, 33, didn’t make her way to the Midwest to cheer on the tight end this time around.
It is unclear what kept the “All Too Well” songstress from attending this week’s game, as Swift doesn’t resume her Eras Tour until next month.
Although the two-time Super Bowl champ had suffered an ankle injury during the first half of the game, he returned to the field and scored a touchdown. The Chiefs took home a win, beating the Vikings 27-20.
The pop star was also absent for Kelce’s lowkey 34th birthday celebration on Thursday.
As previously reported, Swift solidified romance rumors with the football star after the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer was spotted in the VIP box at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 24 alongside Travis’ mother, Donna Kelce.
The following week, the “Shake It Off” singer made another appearance at MetLife Stadium to cheer for the athlete alongside her A-list friends Sophie Turner, Blake Lively, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter and Ryan Reynolds.
Since then, Travis — and his mother — have gushed over the famed singer.
In the Sept. 27 episode of his “New Heights” podcast, the athlete said that his friends and family have had “nothing but good things to say” about Swift since their romance began.
