Doin’ the royal shuffle.
Kate Middleton has sent the internet into a frenzy with a now-viral clip of her fancy footwork at an official event last year.
On Monday, TikTok user @the.royal.watcher shared a video of the Princess of Wales, 41, meeting Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, and Queen Margrethe II at Christian IX’s Palace in February 2022.
As royal photographers began snapping away for the official portraits, Middleton – wearing stiletto heels – was seen doing an oh-so-subtle heel-to-toe dance over to her hosts, without even glancing downward.
The clip of the royal jig racked up nearly two million views and 90 thousand likes in a scant three days.
“The Princess shuffle! I love everything about this!” one person gushed in the comments section of the post.
“And in heels!” noted another. “I would definitely get caught on the carpet and wipe out.”
However, not all of the comments were Team Kate.
“The Queen [Margrethe II] literally invited her to come closer,” noted one viewer. “She didn’t need to shuffle.”
“princess mary took a step without a problem,” wrote another critic. “I think it looks really silly to do whatever Kate was prob instructed to. royals don’t keep it real.”
Some even questioned whether people would be as charmed if Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, had done the same thing.
“If Meghan did this everyone would criticize her,” one person argued, with another adding, “If Meghan did this…the media will lose their mind.”
In more royal news, the world will be seeing a lot more of Middleton in the coming weeks at the coronation of King Charles III.
Earlier this month, she gave a rare hint as to what she’ll be wearing for the historic day on May 6.
Speaking to ITV host Alison Hammond, Middleton shared that “there is a hint of blue” in her planned outfit.
