She’ll definitely be wearing white after Labor Day.
Kelly Ripa praised the perks of menopause and rejoiced that she’s no longer “terrified to wear white pants” on her podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa” Tuesday.
“I love not getting my period,” Ripa, 53, revealed on the podcast, which featured her hormone doctor, Dr. Erika Schwartz.
Ripa is celebrating one added benefit of menopause – the ability to rock white pants no matter what.
“My first Memorial Day through Labor Day after menopause…it was the summer of the white pants because I never had to worry about wearing white pants,” Ripa remembered.
The Emmy winner explained that she started going through menopause during the pandemic – and made it clear that while it might be a taboo subject, Ripa wants to bring menopause into the spotlight.
The “Live With Kelly and Mark” co-host said, “People still whisper the word menopause,” before adding “the information is still so hidden.”
Ripa’s doctor agreed with the sentiment, saying, “We’re still in the Dark Ages,” and comparing going through menopause to “a bad secret.”
The “All My Children” alum said her friends are still tight-lipped about going through menopause and called the experience “too scary for them to acknowledge” and said for some women it’s considered “embarrassing.”
Ripa, who shares her children Michael, 26, Lola, 22, and Joaquin, 20 with husband Mark Consuelos, is certainly not letting aging stop her from sharing thirst traps featuring her and her handsome hubby.
In fact, Consuelos recently got in on the action and paid tribute to the former soap star by sharing a sweet video tribute to his “sexy” wife to celebrate her 53rd birthday.
Perhaps next year’s party will be an all-white theme.
