Jenelle Evans is hitting back at claims that her son Jace’s third disappearance in less than two months was a result of her husband David Eason’s alleged abuse.
“This isn’t about David whether you want to blame him or not,” the “Teen Mom 2” alum tweeted Monday after her estranged mom, Barbara Evans, told police that Eason was the one to blame for Jace running away.
“My mom says a lot of untrue things lately to everyone about me but wanted me to have custody? Imagine what you don’t hear from my side,” she continued.
Jenelle, 31, went on to claim that Barbara, 70, has not “tried speaking [to] or visiting” her three children since July.
“Honestly idk why my own mother is acting the way she is,” she tweeted. “I feel now she’s using police to falsely report just trying to make us look bad as a family. There are multiple people involved in this situation and they know the truth, and so does God.”
Jenelle reported Jace, 14, missing on Sept. 28 after he allegedly left their home through a window.
Afterward, Barbara — who previously had custody of Jace before Jenelle won him back in March — told cops that her grandson claimed he had been assaulted by his stepdad and was “hiding” from him.
“Made contact with Barbara who advised [Jace] was not at the residence,” an incident report obtained by the Ashley’s Reality Roundup stated. “She advised that she had spoken to [Jace] earlier in the evening when he called from an unknown number and told her about being assaulted by David Eason and that he ran away and was hiding.”
Jace ran away two other times in the past several weeks, and just like this time, Jenelle denied that his disappearances were linked to Eason.
Jenelle’s manager insisted on Aug. 15 that Jace going missing had “absolutely nothing to do with” the teen’s stepdad.
Instead, Evans believes Jace’s actions are a result of teenage angst.
“As a boy mom, kids can act up and rebel as I’m sure the majority of us all once did as kids too,” she said at the time. “Jace got in trouble at school, we decided to take his phone away and that’s when he decided to run off. Jace is a good kid, and we’re not dealing with anything that most families don’t deal with while raising children.”
Jace went missing for a second time just two weeks later, but he was found a gas station nearby a few hours later.
After that disappearance, Jenelle hinted that Jace had run away because she found inappropriate content on his Snapchat.
Jenelle and Eason, 35, haven’t had the strongest marriage over the years. In 2018, she called police and accused her husband of cracking her collarbone.
Then, just a year later, they lost custody of their now-6-year-old daughter, Ensley, and Jenelle’s now-9-year-old son, Kaiser — whom she shares with ex Nathan Griffith — after Eason shot and killed their dog for biting their youngest child.
Jenelle split from Eason after the shooting incident, but they got back together several months later.
