Live from New York, it’s an engagement.
“Saturday Night Live” alum Chris Kattan got engaged to Maria Libri at a concert in Chicago last month.
“So.. this happened last night in Chicago. During a Wilco concert, Maria’s favorite band, I proposed to Maria,” Kattan, 52, wrote on Instagram last month along with photos from the proposal.
The comedian shared that Wilco’s lead singer, Jeff Tweedy, “stopped the concert” as he got down on one knee and ask Libri to be his wife.
“Jeff said ‘She said “yes” everybody!’ to the audience. Then played one of Maria’s favorite songs ‘I’m the Man Who Loves You,'” Kattan recalled.
The “Night at the Roxbury” actor thanked the band and “everyone involved in making this incredible moment actually happen.”

“I’m forever grateful,” he gushed. “I love you Maria.”
Libri, for her part, commented on a video of the proposal that was taken by a concertgoer and wrote, “I love you, my future husband❤️.”
Kattan discussed his deep connection with his fiancée in an interview with People published on Monday.
“Maria and I fully accept each other for who we are,” he told the magazine. “It’s not just the things we have in common, we also embrace our quirks and differences — and we don’t love each other in spite of them, we love each other because of them.”
The comedian explained he realized their “creative brains” were “in sync” shortly after they met, which reassured him that he could spend the rest of his life with Libri.
Libri, a former journalist, said she started falling for the comedian she interviewed him more than a year and a half ago.
“It’s funny how life works sometimes and gives you gifts when you’re not looking for them,” she told People. “When we met, we were immediately comfortable with one another. Call it weird, mystical or magical; it’s like we’d known each other in a past life.”
She added, “After spending that first day together (though I didn’t know how), I just somehow knew that my life would never be the same after meeting Chris.”
The “Celebrity Big Brother” alum confirmed his relationship with Libri in February 2022 by going Instagram-official with his then-girlfriend.
“I just met a girl named Maria!’ @maria_libri,” he captioned a sweet selfie, quoting the song “Maria” from the musical “West Side Story.”
Kattan’s engagement announcement comes three months after he was hospitalized for emergency surgery as he battled a severe bout of pneumonia.
“This sweet, sweet man of mine is on the road to recovery, after a severe pneumonia scare ❤️❤️❤️,” Libri wrote on Instagram at the time. “He is always taking care of us, now it’s our turn to take care of him
