From Grammy winner to “full football wife”?
Bethenny Frankel slammed Taylor Swift for acting “over the top” while supporting Travis Kelce at Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs game.
After acknowledging in a Tuesday TikTok video that she is “not a Taylor Swift fan” but has “tremendous respect” for her, Frankel lambasted the singer for “chumming with” the athlete’s mom, Donna Kelce, in the stands.
“It felt like the Chia Pet of a relationship,” said the former Real Housewife, 52. “Like, just add water. Like, they were together for 10 years. Like, she’s a full football wife. … She literally looked like she had been in a serious relationship with this guy for decades.”
Frankel pointed out that the singer, 33, “gets really into the guy she’s with” before calling NFL fans “wary of newcomers.”
She explained, “It took a long time for Gisele [Bündchen] to be a football wife [to Tom Brady]. … Football fans are very tricky.
“They like loyalists,” the former reality star continued. “They like ride or die. They’re not interested in people coming in for a short ride.”
Frankel noted that Swift was “on her tour with another guy … a couple months ago,” referencing her brief romance with Matty Healy.
The Bravolebrity concluded with the same message for Swift that she gives her 13-year-old daughter, Bryn.
“It’s important to find people that you like spending time with … but you’ve got to maintain your own identity and you don’t want to absorb your whole life into someone else’s,” she advised. “You’ve got to keep your two feet on the ground and be your own person and nobody needs to save you.”
Frankel’s TikTok followers came to Swift’s defense in the comments.
Many called the performer “authentic,” with one clarifying, “I think she gives that vibe and cheers for all her friends and supports them. Watch her at any award show. She stands and cheers for everyone.”
Another added, “I saw her be herself and who she is everywhere she goes. I would love for my daughter to be herself and enjoy herself everywhere she goes.”
Additionally, celebrities have gushed over Swift’s rumored romance with the tight end since speculation started that they were “hanging out.”
Hilarie Burton, for her part, tweeted on Monday, “You deserve someone who invites you to work with them. It shows: They think you’re so awesome & they want everyone from buddies to the boss to meet you.”
Notably, when Kelce broke his silence on the rendezvous during Wednesday’s “New Heights” podcast episode, the 33-year-old said “everybody in the suite had nothing but good things to say about her.”
He went on to call Swift “ballsy” and gushed that she “looked amazing” — but warned his fans he will keep his personal life private “moving forward” since the “Cruel Summer” singer is “not in the media as much.”
