Jenny McCarthy recalled a time when she got her period during the middle of an interview while she was co-hosting “The View.”
“I’m on the blue couch, you know the half-moon couch that they have all the guests sit [on],” she recalled on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa” podcast Tuesday.

“All of a sudden, my eyes go wide because I just feel like this rush of a period. And when [you’re] in your 40s, when you’re perimenopausal, you bleed out. You basically hemorrhage, you know, your uterus falls out,” she added.
“I’m sorry. But it does.”
The “John Tucker Must Die” actress, 51, said she began crossing her legs “harder” to keep the menstrual blood flowing down her legs on TV because she was “wearing a freaking dress.”
McCarthy said after she wrapped the interview a little early, everybody got up except for her.
The “Scary Movie 3” actress attempted to call a crew member over to avoid explaining what had happened over the microphone.
“Someone came over and I explained to them, and they’re like, ‘It’s gonna be fine. Just get up and run,'” McCarthy remembered.
The model said she told the employee, “You don’t understand perimenopausal periods. This is going to be a disaster. You have to push me out with the couch!”
The mom of one said when she made a break for the back, the crew and cast could see the blood on her dress.
“They were all horrified,” she claimed.
Ripa, 53, replied, “Talk about a scary movie. You’ve been through the craziest s–t.”
McCarthy co-hosted “The View” from 2013 to 2014.
Though she said she was originally hired to be the “pop culture girl,” the “Scream 3” actress revealed in a 2018 interview that producers of the talk show wanted her to step up her political conversations and be more Republican.
After the former Playmate of the Year’s departure, Nicolle Wallace was brought in with a more conservative viewpoint. However, she also left after one season.
