Christina Applegate clarified her “dark thoughts” after fans showed concern over the actress’ recent confession that she doesn’t “enjoy living” because of her multiple sclerosis.
“Oh my god, you guys, I’m so good. Isn’t that what everyone wants to hear? I’m good,” the “Dead to Me” alum, 52, said on her “Messy” podcast Tuesday. “Does that take a little bit of the pressure off of all of you? I’m good.
“I was talking about some dark stuff I was thinking and feeling … this is our safe place to get those things out because when we hold things in, we give them power,” she continued.
Applegate added, “I also think there’s so much shame that people feel when they’re going through mental health issues. It’s a moment. It’s a thought. It’s a feeling.”
She said that being able to express her “dark thoughts” is “incredibly healing and important” even if it makes others uncomfortable, also assuring fans that she is “not sitting here on suicide watch” because of her chronic illness.
“I dare anyone to be diagnosed with MS or any chronic illness that has taken who you were prior to that moment and go, ‘This is great,’” she said.

“You have moments of feeling like, ‘This is tiring and I don’t want to do this,’ but you do it,” Applegate noted. “By saying this s–t out loud it releases the pressure in the balloon, man.”
Earlier this month, the Emmy winner revealed that she had “real depression” and had been trapped in “this darkness.”
“This is being really honest … I don’t enjoy living,” she candidly shared. “I don’t enjoy it. I don’t enjoy things anymore.”
The “Married… with Children” actress was diagnosed with MS in early 2021.
Applegate has been candid about how MS — a disease of the central nervous system — has affected her health and career.
In March, she revealed that she wears diapers and has 30 lesions on her brain.
