Richard Simmons is defending Melissa McCarthy after Barbra Streisand asked her if she used Ozempic to slim down.
“I love Melissa McCarthy…. I have seen every one of her movies,” the fitness coach, 75, wrote on his verified Facebook Page Tuesday evening.
“A famous legendary singer, B.S. , made a remark about her weight loss…and was asking if she had used a popular weight loss shot,” he continued. “What a question.”
“I apologize to Melissa for these remarks. And by the way, Melissa you look fabulous!”

Streisand, 83, asked McCarthy, 53, the Ozempic question in a since-deleted Instagram comment on Monday under two photos the comedian posted of herself smiling with “Hairspray” director Adam Shankman.
Fans quickly chastised her for the remark, causing her to defend herself on her Instagram Story Tuesday.
“OMG – I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday!” Streisand wrote.
“Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!”
The “Guilty” singer celebrated her 83rd birthday on April 24.
While fans were upset over her comment, McCarthy proved there was no bad blood between them when TMZ caught up with her on Tuesday.
“I think Barbra is a treasure — and I love her,” she stated.
The “Life of the Party” star is no stranger to conversation surrounding her weight.
She previously opened up about how frequently her body size fluctuates in a 2014 interview with Women’s Wear Daily.
“[I’ve been] every size on the planet,” she explained. “I have experience dressing me as a 6, a 12 and more.”
Ozempic, a Type 2 diabetes drug, and similar medications have been the go-to answer for quick weight loss in Hollywood as of late.
Sharon Osbourne, Tracy Morgan, Tori Spelling, Rebel Wilson and Elon Musk are just a few celebrities who have admitted to using such drugs to shrink their waistlines.
