Courteney Cox is getting candid about her regrets about motherhood.
The “Friends” alum opened up about ways she wishes she would’ve stepped up to protect her daughter, Coco Arquette, from certain situations or relationships and been a “firmer parent.”
Reflecting on the past during an appearance on Wednesday’s “Minnie Questions” podcast, she said, “I didn’t want to step in even though I knew something wasn’t right because she would get so mad at me.”

Cox, 59, explained that the 19-year-old was determined to deal with her tribulations alone because the actress “didn’t understand.”
“I did understand and I should’ve trusted myself and I should’ve stepped in,” the mom of one added.
“I’m not saying I made her who she is, but you do see things in other people, whether it’s just always taking care of people and being the nicest person,” she continued.
“And I mean, that’s one of the things with age, I’ve learned to say no, I’ve learned to have boundaries. But I mean, earlier on when she was a kid or not even that many years ago, I wish I’d been a firmer parent.”
The “Scream” franchise star and her daughter, whom she shares with ex-husband David Arquette, seemingly have a hot and cold relationship as they were recently seen having a heated conversation while walking through London’s Heathrow Airport in March.
At the time, photographers caught Cox looking stoic as Coco animatedly carried the conversation and aggressively pointed at the actress.
For the most part, the mother-daughter duo has always appeared chummy while together as they were all smiles at the “Scream 6” premiere in New York City in March 2023.
Cox and Coco also debuted their matching arrow tattoos on Instagram in January 2023 alongside their longtime pal Laura Dern and her two kids — Ellery, 22, and Jaya, 19.
“Watch out… we might have sleeves by 2025,” Cox quipped in the caption.
