Taylor Swift’s fans are convinced that her song “Cassandra” off of her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was inspired by her longstanding feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

In the melancholy track, the pop superstar, 34, sings, “They knew, they knew, they knew the whole time
That I was onto something / The family, the pure greed, the Christian chorus line,” seemingly referencing the Kardashian family’s wealth and West’s Sunday Service ceremonies.

She then continues, “They all said nothing / Blood’s thick but nothing like a payroll / Bet they never spared a prayer for my soul/ You can mark my words that I said it first / In a morning warning, no one heard.”

Many Swifties interpreted the lyrics were about the edited phone call Kardashian leaked in 2016 to present Swift as a liar.

The reality star’s then-husband, West, was under fire for rapping on his song “Famous,” “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous.”

When Swift called him out for name-dropping her in the song, Kardashian released a recording of a phone call between them, which appeared to show the “Bad Blood” singer was OK with the lyrics.

Then, in 2020, a longer version of the call revealed that Swift never knew about the word “bitch” being mentioned in the track, which is with what she really took issue.

Kardashian reportedly never apologized for the role she played in the phone call scandal.

One of Swift’s fans wrote via X Friday that “Cassandra” is “so sad because when kanye and kim were spreading lies about her everybody was ready to burn her alive and when real clip came out confirming she was telling the truth everybody pretended nothing happened and no one apologized.”

Another agreed, “Taylor is Cassandra. She tried to warn people about Kim/the Kardashians but people wouldn’t believe her.”

A third, explaining why Swift chose the Greek mythological figure Cassandra as the track’s title, added, “So Cassandra of Troy did try to warn the people of the coming fall of Troy and everyone ignored her, but she was right.

“Taylor tried to say before she was canceled what happened, now we all know Kanye is absolutely unhinged.“

Swift has often expressed how her fallout with West, 46, and Kardashian, 43, deeply affected her.

“A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are quote-unquote canceled, is a very isolating experience,” the “Cruel Summer” singer told Vogue in 2019.

“When you say someone is canceled, it’s not a TV show. It’s a human being. You’re sending mass amounts of messaging to this person to either shut up, disappear, or it could also be perceived as, ‘Kill yourself.’”

More recently, Swift seemingly forewarned how she uses painful experiences, like her issues with West, to influence her songwriting.

“My response to anything that happens, good or bad, is to keep making things. Keep making art,” she said in her Time’s Person of the Year cover story in December 2023.

“But I’ve also learned there’s no point in actively trying to quote unquote defeat your enemies.”

Swifties want to know

  • Taylor Swift’s complete dating history
  • Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s relationship timeline
  • Taylor Swift’s birth chart

Swift used that mantra not just on “Cassandra” but also on another song off of “TTPD,” which poignantly likens Kardashian to a high school bully.

In “thanK you, aIMee,” the Grammy winner not so subtly capitalized some of the letters on the title’s track to highlight the first three letters of the Skims founder’s first name, “Kim.”

She also sings, “And so I changed your name, and any real defining clues / And one day, your kid comes home singin’ / A song that only us two is gonna know is about you.”

Since the song’s release, Swifties are taking to social media to troll Kardashian, calling her “Aimee” in the comments section of several of her recent Instagram posts.

The “Kardashians” star’s rep declined Page Six’s request for comment and she has not directly addressed the lyrical callouts. West’s rep did not immediately respond to our request for comment on the diss tracks.
