Matthew Perry was allegedly abusive to several women, including his ex-fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, in the years leading up to his October 2023 death.
According to the Daily Mail, sources close to the late “Friends” star claim he allegedly “threw a coffee table” at Hurwitz in 2021 after she questioned him about cheating.
The literary manager, 32, and the “Fools Rush In” star began dating in 2018 and got engaged in November 2020.
Seven months later, they called off their engagement amid rumors that Perry was allegedly flirting with then-19-year-old Kate Haralson on the dating app Raya.
However, sources told the Daily Mail that Hurwitz actually broke up with Perry in February 2021 after the two allegedly had a huge fight on Valentine’s Day.
At the time, Hurwitz allegedly dumped her then-fiancé after she discovered he purchased a romantic gift for someone else he also met on Raya.
“He threw a coffee table at her and told her that she was crazy,” the source claimed to the outlet. “He hated that she dumped him and he had terrible abandonment issues.”
The Daily Mail also reported that Perry allegedly pushed his live-in sober companion, Morgan Moses, into a wall and “threw her onto a bed” in March 2022 during an alleged “meltdown.”
After the alleged incident took place, Moses quit her job as his sober companion and ended all contact with Perry a year before his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” was released in November 2022.
“Morgan was no longer working with Matthew. He had a horrible breakdown and in the heat of the moment he could not control his emotions,” the source told the outlet.
“He had a fear that he was going to be abandoned. He shoved Morgan into a wall and threw her onto a bed. She left.”
The insider added, “The man those close to him knew and the man that the world saw were two very different people.”
Moses and Hurwitz declined to comment when contacted by the Daily Mail.
Pvnew has reached out to Perry’s reps as well as Hurwitz and Moses for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Perry was found dead in his in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28, 2023. He was 54.
A coroner later announced that the “Serving Sara” star died from “acute effects of ketamine.”
In addition to the ketamine, the coroner listed drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine effects as other conditions that contributed to his death.
Despite their alleged rocky relationship, Hurwitz paid tribute to Perry on social media after news surfaced of his death.
She wrote on Instagram that though she loved her ex-fiancé “deeper than I could comprehend,” Perry “was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known.”
“No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry,” Hurwitz wrote. “I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.
