Jenelle Evans and her husband, David Eason, reportedly are at the center of a police investigation after her son Jace ran away for the third time.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ Wednesday that the “Teen Mom 2” alum and Eason are being investigated for child neglect following the 14-year-old’s latest disappearance.
The outlet reported that Jace allegedly told police officers that Eason, 35, had assaulted him, which only further pushed the investigation into the tumultuous couple.
Jace was allegedly found with visible bruises on his neck and arms, and Child Protective Services reportedly has obtained Ring footage that purports to show an altercation.
Reps for Evans and Eason didn’t immediately return Pvnew’s requests for comment.
The former MTV personality’s estranged mother, Barbara Evans, also claimed to police that Jace’s decision to flee was a result of his stepfather’s alleged abuse.
Jenelle, however, denied Barbara’s claims on social media.
“This isn’t about David whether you want to blame him or not,” she tweeted Monday.
“My mom says a lot of untrue things lately to everyone about me but wanted me to have custody? Imagine what you don’t hear from my side,” she continued.
Jenelle, 31, said that her mother has not “tried speaking [to] or visiting” her three children since July.
“I feel now she’s using police to falsely report just trying to make us look bad as a family,” she added.
“There are multiple people involved in this situation and they know the truth, and so does God.”
Barbara, 70, previously had custody of Jace, who is the son of Jenelle and ex Andrew Lewis, until March when the reality star won him back after 13 years.
Jace ran away two other times in the past several weeks, and his mother chalked it up to teenage angst.
“Jace got in trouble at school, we decided to take his phone away and that’s when he decided to run off,” Jenelle explained.
“Jace is a good kid, and we’re not dealing with anything that most families don’t deal with while raising children.”
