Mauricio Umansky insisted that he and Kyle Richards are still working on their marriage despite speculation that they are headed for divorce.
During an appearance on The Agency Dallas’ “Red Mic” podcast Thursday, the real estate broker shot down rumors that he and Richards “planted” their breakup in order to get “views.”
“I’m not going to destroy my life to put a plant in the news so that people can get more entertainment,” he said. “That was an absolute blow.”
“We were dealing with our own things, kind of, super quietly and internally, just our own issues,” he continued. “I mean, certainly, we’re not separated. We’re not divorced at this point. We are not any of that stuff.”
Umansky, 53, claimed the pair is “still dealing with their marriage” and noted that it is normal for couples to experience ups and downs.
“You know it’s been an amazing 26 years and it’s been a difficult one year,” he said. “Most marriages have bad months, bad weeks, bad years.”
In July, sources told People that the pair had “been separated for a while” but insisted they were still “amicable” and living under the same roof.
Yet the two later called rumors of an impending divorce “untrue,” further shooting down any speculation of “wrongdoing.” However, they did admit to having “a rough year.”
Although the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 54, is rumored to have moved on with country music star Morgan Wade, the estranged spouses have continued to spend time together.
In fact, the Bravolebrity was spotted cheering for Umansky during the Season 32 premiere of “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday.
As Umansky took the floor with pro dance partner Emma Slater for the first time, Richards and daughters Farrah Brittany, 34, Alexia, 27, and Sophia, 23, were all in the crowd.
During the pre-taped segment of the show, Umansky got candid about the pair’s “rough year,” admitting that he agreed to do the show in order to “take [his] mind off it.”
It appears his plan paid off as the real estate mogul told “Entertainment Tonight” earlier this month that he and Richards “are both happy” despite their split.
“You know, we’re hanging in there, we’re working through all of our things, which everybody knows about, and we’re just taking it day by day,” he told the outlet.
