Following the success of her catchy 2013 hit “Good As Gold,” the “Vanderpump Rules” star has returned to the music scene this year with new singles like “Apples,” “Boy Crazy” and her latest, “Sweet & Sour.”
Shay teamed up with vocalist Landis Daniels and guitarist Kevin Franklin of Los Angeles-based music group The 27s for the pop-punk bop, which was released on March 1.
“I’m so sweet with the cherry on top / baggy ripped jeans and my T-shirt cropped,” the reality TV star sings on the track. “Mean girls mad ’cause they want what I got / and they say I’m the one that all the hot boys really want.”

Shay, Daniels and Franklin celebrated the release with a party held at the Gibson Showroom in West Hollywood, Calif., on March 7 with energetic performances, food by Banging Buns and an open bar.
Shay told the crowd that she had not rehearsed beforehand and was going to “wing it” like she usually does. “Whose idea was it to write that many lyrics in a song [without] rehearsing,” she joked, as fans chanted for “one more song.”
2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards kicks off at YouTube Theater
This year’s event, held March 6 in Inglewood, Calif., celebrated the impressive achievements of Karol G. The Colombian singer was awarded the night’s highest honor, woman of the year, at the star-studded awards show.
“This might be the most significant and important recognition of all my career, this is super special. This is woman of the year but this is the first time ever a Latina is named the woman of the year,” the “Amargura” singer said in part while accepting her award from actress Sofía Vergara.
“I look back now, all the time it has taken me to be here, 16 years, and I feel very at peace with myself because I followed my heart. I see the process, I wouldn’t take anything away. All the things, from the most beautiful to the most difficult, I am grateful today and they have made me the person I am.”
Other highlights from the evening included surprise appearances from Katy Perry and Demi Lovato, powerhouse award recipient Charli XCX performing her emotional new song, “So I,” for the first time and entertaining speeches from fellow winners Ice Spice (hitmaker), PinkPantheress (producer of the year), Kylie Minogue (icon), Tems (breakthrough), Maren Morris (visionary) and more.
Fifth Harmony in talks to reunite – with Camila Cabello
A source exclusively told Pvnew on March 1 that Fifth Harmony is in talks to reunite.
We hear Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui and Normani are all set to get back together, along with Camila Cabello, who famously exited the girl group in 2016.
The exciting news comes six years after 5H – formed on Season 2 of “The X Factor” in 2012 – announced they were taking an indefinite hiatus to pursue solo careers.
An insider told us that the conversation about reuniting sparked after their past hits, like 2016’s “All in My Head (Flex),” recently began going viral on TikTok. Reps for the ladies did not immediately respond to our requests for comment.

The Kid Laroi hosts pop-up concert at intimate LA venue
In celebration of his new Amazon Prime documentary, “Kids Are Growing Up: A Story about A Kid Named Laroi,” Australian singer The Kid Laroi performed an exclusive show at the El Rey Theatre on Feb. 26.
The “F*ck You, Goodbye” singer performed a selection of his hits old and new, including “Stay,” “Without You,” “Bleed” and “Sorry” to a crowd of fans who excitedly sang along to the lyrics throughout the duration of the concert.
“If there’s any song on the set list that you need to be 100 out of 10 for right now, it is this [one],” Laroi told the audience, encouraging concertgoers to open up the pit before performing “Diva” with assistance from his onstage DJs. “That’s the energy I want right there! Keep that s–t open.”
As for the new documentary, out now, the project showcases Laroi’s rise to international fame with help from mentors and collaborators like Justin Bieber, Post Malone and the late Juicewrld. It also features never-before-seen footage from his early days as an aspiring young artist, along with interviews with family members and longtime friends who’ve supported him since day one.

iHeartRadio’s ALTer EGO concert takes over the Honda Center
iHeartRadio always puts on a good show – and their 2024 ALTer EGO concert was no exception.
Held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on Jan. 13, the lineup featured bands and artists like The 1975, Bush, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Yellowcard and Fall Out Boy.
One of the highlights from the jam-packed show was when Mike Shinoda of linkin Park made a surprise appearance on stage to introduce Sum 41.
The rock band, made up of Tom Thacker, Jason McCaslin, Deryck Whibley, Frank Zummo and Dave Baksh, took the stage for “one of the band’s last” performances, belting out hits like “In Too Deep” and “Fat Lip” for the crowd of raging fans.
Sum 41 announced in May 2023 that they would be disbanding following their farewell tour. They’ve been together as a group since 1996. “We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in any way,” they shared in a statement posted to social media at the time.
A*Teens reuniting to celebrate 25th anniversary of debut album
Pvnew exclusively confirmed on Jan. 25 that The A*Teens – whom originated as an ABBA cover band in Sweden in 1999 – are set to reunite in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their debut album, “The ABBA Generation.”
Insiders told us that on Feb. 3, 2024, the “Upside Down” singers will perform at the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen to mark their first official appearance together in two decades.
We’re told the group’s original members, Marie Serneholt, Dhani Lennevald, Sara Lumholdt and Amit Paul, recently met up in Stockholm to prepare for their highly anticipated comeback.
Dead Poet Society hosts album release party in LA
Rock band Dead Poet Society – not to be confused with Taylor Swift’s latest project, “The Tortured Poets Department” – celebrated the release of their second studio album, “Fission,” in a big way.
The group, made up of lead singer Jack Underkofler, guitarist Jack Collins, bassist Dylan Brenner and drummer Will Goodroad, hosted a badass show for fans at Pico Union Project in Los Angeles on Jan. 24.
“This album is a lot about entering like a permanently altered state of mind, like a position in which you can’t change it. It’s like you’re forced to grow into a different person, and there’s no going back from that,” Underkofler exclusively teased to Pvnew backstage.
“I hope that there’s people out there that have gone through similar things [that we’re exploring on the album]. It’s kind of the beauty of songwriting … the things we go through, although they feel very unique, they’re completely generic.”
