His time playing pro football may have wound down, but Jason Kelce’s love for his Philadelphia Eagles keeps ticking.
The veteran center announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons in an emotional press conference Monday, dressed casually in an Eagles tank top and a sentimental watch.
Kelce, 36, wore a discontinued yellow gold Rolex GMT-Master II featuring a green dial and a black ceramic bezel — which, as he revealed on the “Green Light with Chris Long” podcast in February, was a special team commission following the Eagles’ Super Bowl win in 2018.
“Super Bowl rings aren’t fun to wear. First of all, you feel kind of like a douche, a little bit, I feel like, when you’re wearing it. It feels like you’re like, ‘Oh, look at me! I won a Super Bowl!'” he told the host at the time.
“And they’re also really big and clunky. Like, it’s already giving me a blister on my finger. They’re not comfortable. So we all decided — along with a couple other guys on the team — let’s just have Rolexes made commemorating the Super Bowl.”
Their particular model can sell for anywhere from $20,000 to nearly $100,000 on the resale market; it’s most often priced at around $50,000.

After Kelce acknowledged on the podcast that he’s not really “a big watch guy,” Long joked that he’s probably the only man who can pull off styling a Rolex with his signature flip-flops.
It’s not the only Rollie in Kelce’s wardrobe, either; as Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox told PHLY Sports in December, quarterback Jalen Hurts gifted his offensive line Rolexes for Christmas this year.
Brother Travis Kelce, who supported Jason at Monday’s conference, has quite a collection of the pricey timepieces himself, including Day-Dates in both platinum and yellow gold and a stainless steel Submariner with a black dial and matching bezel.
