Zach Bryan was arrested Thursday, just days after scoring his first No. 1 album and single, Pvnew can /confirm/i.
The country music star was taken into police custody in his home state of Oklahoma and booked on an obstruction of investigation charge at 6:42 p.m. local time, according to online records from the Craig County Sheriff’s Office.
After posing for a mugshot, Bryan was released on bond.
“Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line in the things I said,” he later admitted on Twitter.
“I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated in the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize. … Prayers we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers.”
Bryan’s rep did not immediately respond to Pvnew’s request for additional comment.
The “Something in the Orange” singer, 27, just released his self-titled album on Aug. 25, and it became his first to top the Billboard 200 earlier this week.
The project’s lead single, “I Remember Everything” featuring Kacey Musgraves, is also currently the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.
Just moments before his arrest in the rural city of Vinita, Bryan posted a photo on social media of his dog, Jack Daniels, sleeping in the passenger seat of his truck.
“On the road again, gonna go see the birds win,” the US Navy veteran captioned the Instagram Story upload, suggesting he had been en route to see his beloved Philadelphia Eagles’ season opener Sunday against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
TMZ was first to report the news.
Bryan is in between tours at the moment.
He wrapped up his “Burn, Burn, Burn” trek on Aug. 30 in Kansas City, Mo., and will kick off his “Quittin Time” shows on March 5, 2024, in Chicago.
In the interim, the rising star has five festival performances scheduled through the end of the year, starting with the Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival in Franklin, Tenn., on Sept. 24.
