Miley Cyrus got candid about her split from Liam Hemsworth.
During a clip of her “Used to Be Young” series on TikTok Wednesday, the pop star revealed she realized her relationship was over while headlining at the 2019 Glastonbury Festival in England.
“Glastonbury was in June, which was when the decision happened that me and Liam’s commitment to being married just really came from, of course, a place of love first — because we’d been together for 10 years — but also from a place of trauma,” she explained.
At the time, the “Last Song” co-stars, who wed in December 2018, suffered a lot of loss and were “just trying to rebuild as quickly as [they] could” after their beloved home burned down during the November 2018 Woolsey fire in Malibu, Calif.
“The day of the show was the day I had decided that it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship,” Cyrus continued.
The “Flowers” singer went on to explain how she forced herself to bury her emotions and put on an act for the sake of her fans.
“That was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first,” she said.
“And I guess now that’s why it’s so important to me for me to not be the case [anymore]. The human comes first.”
In an earlier clip, the “Party in the U.S.A.” singer also recalled the undeniable chemistry between her and the Australian actor when they first met on the set of “The Last Song” in 2009.
Hemsworth was one of the three finalists auditioning to play Cyrus’ on-screen boyfriend, and it wasn’t long until he swept the singer off her feet after landing the gig.
“I think one of the elements that made that movie feel so special was it was watching two very young people fall in love with each other, which was happening in real time and real life,” the “Hannah Montana” alum gushed.
“So, the chemistry was undeniable and that was the beginning of a long, 10-year relationship.
Cyrus and Hemsworth were involved in a lengthy on-and-off relationship before they decided to call it off for good after the “Hunger Games” actor filed for divorce in August 2019.
The duo was also previously engaged in 2012 but called it off the following year.
