Nick Viall hopes “Golden Bachelor” Gerry Turner’s new wife, Theresa Nist, asked for a prenup.
“I think it was more than OK for Theresa to request one if she did,” the “Viall Files” podcast host and former “Bachelor” lead, 43, exclusively tells Pvnew.
“If it’s about love, then it really isn’t about anything else,” he continued. “So, yeah, it would be weird for him to decline the request, wouldn’t it?”
It remains unknown if Turner, 72, and Nist, 70, signed a legal agreement to protect their respective assets prior to exchanging vows in a televised wedding ceremony that aired Jan. 4 on ABC.
However, Viall seems to be more concerned for the bride, as her now-spouse faced a myriad of sordid accusations in a Hollywood Reporter exposé that came out before she received his final rose on the 2023 “Golden Bachelor” finale.
Turner was accused of lying about his past in several aspects. Per his ex, who went by Carolyn to maintain her anonymity, Turner had a live-in girlfriend, whom he dated for three years, shortly after the death of his first wife, Toni.
This claim contradicted the heart-wrenching story Turner told on the senior edition of the dating reality series in which he asserted that he hadn’t been kissed since Toni’s 2017 passing.
Viall previously shaded Turner in a December 2023 interview on Pvnew’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast, quipping that “we come to find out that the body was barely cold before he started dating” again.
Financially speaking, though, it was reported that the self-proclaimed “restauranteur” owned a Mr. Quick hamburger drive-in franchise in Iowa, but sold it in 1985. In the following decades, he held various sales and management positions in the meat business, according to his linkedIn page.
He also reportedly installed hot tubs at Gannon Pools near Davenport, Iowa, and worked as a maintenance man at the Vera French Mental Health Center.
Many “Golden Bachelor” viewers assumed that Turner chose Nist — who works in wealth management — for her financial stability, expressing this opinion in heated social media comments.
“I hope Theresa has a prenup cos if he’s really as ‘frugal’ as that article says, he chose her for her money,” one person wrote on X in December 2023.
“I hate to say this I really do but like Theresa becomes Gerry’s #1 after revealing she’s a daytrader,” added another, “then an article comes out detailing him being v particular about money on multiple occasions… has our Golden Bachelor been a Gold Digger this whole time?”
Per the THR article, Turner was so frugal that he allegedly forced his ex after Teri to pay for her half of meals before dining out — only to “pay” himself at restaurants, so staff would think he took care of the entire bill.
When asked to address the claims made in piece, Turner claimed to the Los Angeles Times in December 2023 that he “really [didn’t] have time to think” about the allegations.
But Viall hopes that Nist has taken red flags into consideration, especially ones that involve Turner’s relationship with money.
“Isn’t he a successful restaurant-preneur or whatever it’s called? Why does he need [someone else’s money]?” he says with a bit of sarcasm.
“I don’t know if there was a request. But if there was one, I support Theresa.”
Viall is currently promoting Mucinex Kickstart, a multi-symptom cold and flu relief medication.
“It sucks to have cold and flu symptoms. It’s even worse when you have a lot going on like I do,” he says, noting his responsibilities as a podcast host, the owner of his recently launched Envy Media company and an expecting father.
“I have a kid on the way,” acknowledges Viall, whose fiancée Natalie Joy is pregnant with a baby girl. “It’s hard to wake up feeling crappy with a lot to do and I can’t afford staying in bed all day. Mucinex Kickstart is an absolute help.”
