The American Association of Independent Music (A2IM) has announced the nominees for the2022A2IMLibera Awards Presented by Merlin, continuing its 17-year tradition of supporting and honoring the talent of the independent music sector.
And like the independent music world itself, the nominees in the33categories are all over the map, but the most-nominated artists include singer-songwriter-author Japanese Breakfast (a.k.a. Michelle Zauner), country artist Jason Isbell and last year’s winner, British singer-songwriter Arlo Parks.
This year’s Libera Awards will be two-fold, including both a virtual broadcast exclusively streamed onYouTube, as well as an in-person ceremony held onJune 16,2022inNew York City.
Tickets for the in-person ceremony go on sale soon and will be announced on @liberaawards socials. This year, the Libera Awards is excited to partner with the Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities (RAMPD), who will be providing consultation services on event accessibility, disability culture and inclusion.
Each year, the Libera Awards serve as the culmination ofA2IM’s Indie Week, an international conference that brings together leaders from the independent music world for four days of keynotes, workshops, and panels.
