Of course Kim Kardashian isn’t backing down about her favorite office accessory.
The 43-year-old reality star took to Twitter Friday after an Allure article criticized how she’s trying to “normalize tanning beds,” with Kardashian sharing the piece and explaining that the device “really helps” with her autoimmune disease.
“I have psoriasis and it really helps when it’s bad. But I don’t use it too often,” she wrote in reply to the magazine’s opinion piece.
The tanning drama started when the beauty guru jumped on the recent “I’m ____, of course” trend by sharing a TikTok tour of her Skkn by Kim office on Thursday.
Kardashian, clad in a furry cream robe and high boots, strolls through her office in the clip, proclaiming things like, “I’m Kim Kardashian, of course I have all my magazine covers covering my walls.”
As she continues the tour, the Skims founder adds a pair of tanning goggles to her look as she climbs into a lit-up tanning bed, saying, “I’m Kim Kardashian, of course I have a tanning bed and a red light bed in my office.”
Allure immediately penned an opinion piece titled “Please, Kim Kardashian, Don’t Try to Normalize Tanning Beds,” citing the high risk of skin cancer associated with indoor tanning.
The mag wrote that the star was sending a potentially dangerous message to her fans in the video by making them think it was okay to tan, also pointing out that “contrary to popular belief, UV exposure can be more harmful than helpful in the treatment of psoriasis.”
Indeed, Kardashian’s comments section was filled with quite a few TikTok users who wondered if it was now acceptable to tan indoors, like one who wrote, “So can I go back into the tanning beds if Kim Kardashian does ?”
However, others were skeptical of her office tanning setup, like a fan who commented, “Omg
