Morgan Miller clarified that it was actually three of her five kids that were rushed to the hospital due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
After her husband, Bode Miller, revealed that their 3-year-old son Asher was recently rushed to the hospital, the former volleyball player took to Instagram Friday to give more details about the “terrifying experience.”
“Receiving a lot of messages so addressing it here… Two weeks ago, we had a crane at our house to remove our broken hot tub,” the 36-year-old captioned a video of her twin boys, Asher and Aksel, 3, and daughter Scarlet Olivia, 1, in the emergency room.
“Asher, Aksel and Scarlet innocently stood on the front step of our house to watch the action which resulted in them getting carbon monoxide poisoning due to the lack of airflow in our driveway, landing them in the ER.”
Thankfully, the trio — who had to be “on high flow oxygen for over four hours” — seem to be on the mend.
“It was a terrifying experience but thanking my lucky stars they are okay,” she concluded.
When a follower asked Morgan how she knew something was “wrong” with the little ones, the former athlete explained that Asher had been “complaining of an upset stomach and was white as a ghost.”
“When I laid him down to look at his stomach he started to pass out,” she replied. “I rushed him to the ER and they ran all the tests which all came back normal.”
Morgan then contacted their nanny to check on the other young kids and that’s when she found out that the other two were starting to experience similar symptoms.
“I notified the nurse and she said if there’s ever more than one with the same symptoms then they check for carbon monoxide poisoning and sure enough that’s what it was,” she explained. “They had us clear the house and bring everyone down to get tested and they sent the fire department up to check our home.”
Morgan told another user that she and Bode have carbon monoxide detectors “all over” their house but “none of them went off.”
The explanation comes just one day after Bode opened up about the experience in a since-deleted Instagram post.
“Earlier this week we had a crane parked in our driveway for a few hours. Despite keeping the kids inside for obvious safety reasons, the little ones got really sick from it,” he wrote.
However, at the time the Olympian only mentioned that their son Asher had been found to have carbon monoxide poisoning.
“All are well now, but passing along as a reminder to all parents of the dangers of carbon monoxide. Reminder to go test your CO detectors.”
Along with their three little ones, the couple also shares sons Nash, 8, and Easton, 4. They also shared their late daughter, Emmy, who died in June 2018 at 19 months old.
Bode also has a 10-year-old son, Nate, and a 14-year-old daughter, Dace, from previous relationships.
