Whoopi Goldberg set the record straight on an online rumor that claims she is one of the high-profile names featured on deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s flight log list.
“They said I was on the island and I’m, like, I don’t go anywhere,” the “View” co-host, 68, said on Thursday’s show.
“I don’t know what I’ve done to anybody, but apparently there are a lot of these kind of sites that are … satire sites. But people don’t realize that they can be harmful.”
Ahead of the highly anticipated unsealing of court documents that featured the names of celebs who had ties to Epstein — such as A-listers Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Michael Jackson, Naomi Campbell and more — there were “fake” lists floating around the internet that named people like Goldberg as part of the multimillionaire’s infamous inner circle.
One such list circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, Monday stated that aside from the “Color Purple” star, her co-star Joy Behar and stars like Angelina Jolie, Barak Obama, Beyoncé, George Clooney and dozens others were allegedly found on Epstein’s flight log.
However, a note via X moderators was added at the time that stated, “This is a fake list. The real Epstein flight logs have not yet been made public.
‘A long list of people associated with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is expected to be made public in the coming days.'”
The actual documents were released late Wednesday after Manhattan federal Judge Loretta Preska ordered them to be unsealed following a since-settled defamation lawsuit that Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre brought against the convicted pedophile’s madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, in 2015.
Goldberg has not been named as of yet, but there are about 250 more court documents that are expected to be released in the coming days.
“Don’t believe unless I tell you about me,” the “Ghost” star also said on her ABC talk show. “You’ll know if I’m doing something. I have nothing to hide. … It’s so insane and you know I don’t go anywhere.”
She also took the opportunity to dispel other online rumors about herself, such as that she allegedly once got kicked out of Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant and Guy Fieri’s restaurant, got kicked off Bill Maher’s show and fought with Oprah Winfrey backstage at “The View.”
“I mean it’s insane, it goes on and on and on,” Goldberg said before noting that those who post “all kinds of garbage” on the internet should be “very careful.”
She added, “once someone is cleared of your insanity, they’re going to call their lawyer on you.”
