Aubrey Plaza claimed in a resurfaced interview that a movie director forced her to masturbate on camera in a room full of men.
Plaza appeared on “Conan” in 2013 to promote Maggie Carey’s raunchy rom-com, “The To Do List,” which followed the actress’s high school-age character as she set out to — shall we say — pop various cherries before heading off to college.
When host Conan O’Brien asked his guest about the scene in which she pleasured herself, Plaza alleged that Carey — the ex-wife of Bill Hader, who was also in the film — instructed her to carry out the task in actuality.
“I read it on the page, and it said, ‘Brandy masturbates,'” the “White Lotus” star, now 38, explained at the time.
“And in my head, I envisioned a nice scene where you just see my hand slowly go out of frame.
“That’s what I thought I was going into, but when I showed up, the camera was mounted on the ceiling,” she continued.
“I was in my underwear and a [Bill] Clinton T-shirt, and there were a bunch of old men smoking — you know, the crew guys.”
Visibly uncomfortable, Plaza admitted she was joking about the smoking part.
“I asked the director, ‘What should I do?'” she recalled.
“And she said, ‘Masturbate — like it says in the script.’
“And then I went and I touched myself,” the “Parks and Recreation” alum added, reiterating that she was caught off guard by the “full-body shot,” which did not show any of her private parts.
Plaza told the Oregonian the same year that “the masturbating scene was … the most nerve-racking.”
“In my head, I thought, ‘Oh, we’ll probably shoot this in a way where I don’t really have to really do it,'” she shared.
“But then when we did it … I was like, ‘Oh, no, we’re going to shoot it where I do it.'”
Reps for Carey did not immediately respond to Pvnew’s request for comment.
