Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room and every single one of your friends was making fun of you?
In an interview with “CBS Mornings” Friday, Patrick Mahomes revealed his teammate Travis Kelce faced a few “jokes” when he first romanced Taylor Swift.
“At first, I feel like everybody kind of stayed away, just let him do what he was doing,” the quarterback told host Nate Burleson.
“And then he started bringing Taylor around and you realize how cool of a person she was and she is. So for us — I mean, it was a couple of jokes here and there in the beginning — but now, she’s just part of Chiefs Kingdom and she’s part of the team.”
Mahomes said it’s also “cool” that the “Bad Blood” singer has “embraced” and “built a friendship” with his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
“So for me, it’s just Travis, man, and he’s lucky enough to be with a great girl — and a great woman — and it’s been cool to kind of interact with her and see ’cause she’s top tier of her profession and see how she drives and she becomes that,” he added.
“I have a first-hand look at that through Brittany and Travis’ eyes … I think that’s why her and Travis match so well.”
Since Kelce and Swift, both 34, went public with their romance in September, they have become close with Patrick and his wife, both 28.
The mom of two and the Grammy winner have become BFFs, sitting next to each other in the VIP suites at Arrowhead Stadium on several occasions, cheering on their athletes.
The women also came up with a special celebratory handshake, which they debuted at the Chiefs game in October.
Swift also introduced Brittany to her A-list friends, such as Sophie Turner, Blake Lively and Selena Gomez.
Last month, Kelce and the pop star reportedly visited the Mahomes family at their palatial Kansas City mansion, which features a full-length football field and a golf course in the backyard.
As the former soccer star’s friendship grew with Swift, so did the trolls on her social media pages.
Brittany recently had to clap back at several haters who have invaded her Instagram since she became close pals with the “Cruel Summer” songstress.
“Recently there has been A LOT more rude ass people on here,” she wrote on her Instagram Story earlier this week.
“Waaaay more then [sic] normal… I’m not sure where yall came from, but you should probably go back to where you came from… please.”
