They weren’t ready for it.
Travis Kelce’s family members are “overwhelmed” by the fanfare surrounding his and Taylor Swift’s romance, according to TMZ.
The outlet reported Tuesday that the Kansas City Chiefs player’s loved ones are “a little worried” for his safety.
The attention that Travis, 34, has garnered since his relationship with Swift, 33, first made headlines in September has reportedly “taken a toll” on his mom, Donna Kelce, his dad, Ed Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce.
The tight end’s family is “watching what they say these days very carefully” while “under a microscope” with their phones “getting blown up nonstop,” according to TMZ.
However, they are said to be “dealing” with the spotlight because “they’re happy Travis is happy.”
Nearly two weeks after news broke that Travis and Swift were “quietly hanging out,” the Grammy winner watched one of the NFL player’s games from his suite.
The “Love Story” singer sat with Donna at the time — and continued to spend time with Travis’ family at games against the New York Jets, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers over the next month.
When asked about Swift during a “Today” show appearance earlier this month, Donna said she didn’t “like to talk about” their time together.
The 71-year-old acknowledged that meeting the pop star was “OK,” adding, “I was in the boxes with her. It’s another thing that’s amped up my life.”
Three weeks later, Ed gushed to “Entertainment Tonight” that his son and Swift make a “wonderful couple” and are “enjoying each other’s company and supporting each other.”

While Jason has yet to be photographed with the songwriter like his parents, the Philadelphia Eagles player, 35, often brings her up on his and Travis’ “New Heights” podcast.
Jason even poked fun at romance rumors before the couple went public, from saying Travis was “having fun” to sarcastically “100 percent” confirming their love.
Travis, for his part, told listeners in September that he plans to “keep it [to] … talking about sports” since the Eras Tour performer is “not in the media as much.”
His and Swift’s bond spoke for itself when they hard-launched their romance in New York City earlier this month with multiple PDA-filled outings.
