Darius Jackson has fired back at Keke Palmer’s domestic violence restraining order request, alleging that the actress was the “primary aggressor” in their relationship.
The fitness trainer filed new court documents, obtained by Pvnew, on Friday, and claims that the “Nope” star “engaged in abusive behavior” and subjected him to “physical and verbal abuse.”
Jackson claims in the documents that Palmer “punched” him in the face “at a birthday party” on Aug. 20, 2021, and allegedly choked and hit him during an altercation on Feb. 28, 2022.
He also alleges that Palmer, 30, berated him, calling him names such as “bitch, a punk ass, and a loser” while she was allegedly inebriated.
Jackson, who stated in the new documents that he’s living with his mother, is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their 10-month-old son, Leo.
Reps for Palmer didn’t immediately return Pvnew’s request for comment.
Palmer was granted a temporary restraining order against Jackson as well as custody of Leo in early November.
about a month later, the “Alice” actress requested the restraining order hearing be moved so she and Jackson could resolve their legal issues privately.
Despite wanting to take their issues out of the headlines, a source exclusively confirmed to Pvnew that Palmer would still pursue a restraining order against Jackson.
“The restraining order that Keke was granted in November remains in full force and effect and has NOT been dropped,” the insider told us. “Keke will continue to protect her safety and the safety of Leo above all else.”
Despite Friday’s filing, in which newly baptized Jackson also claimed the former child star has “refused” to let him spend time with their son, a source tells us that they’re still mediating privately.
A criminal investigation into Palmer’s claims is ongoing, and a hearing regarding the restraining order is set for Jan 9, 2024.
“Keke is concerned about her privacy, Leo’s privacy, and the privacy of her family,” the insider noted.
“So her preference is to resolve the situation privately rather than in open court if possible, but if not possible the hearing remains on the calendar.”
The source added, “Keke will stop at nothing to ensure a safe and healthy outcome for herself and Leo.”
Palmer accused Jackson, 29, in previously filed court documents of “destroying [her] personal property,” “throwing [her] belongings into the street,” “throwing [her] car keys to prevent [her] from driving away,” “hitting [her] in front of [their] son” and “spewing profanities about [her] to [their] son.”
The “Akeelah and the Bee” actress also alleged she had security footage that showed Jackson “lunging for [her] neck, striking [her], throwing [her] over the couch and stealing [her] phone” when she once tried to call the police.
