Anthony Edwards is publicly backtracking on alleged comments he made to an onlyFans model.
The NBA player issued a statement Monday after Paige Jordae claimed the Minnesota Timberwolves star offered her $100,000 to terminate her pregnancy.
“I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man,” Edwards, 22, wrote in a statement shared on X.
“All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them,” he went on.
“I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time.”
This statement comes one day after Jordae shared screenshots of alleged text messages she and Edwards exchanged, including a photo of a positive pregnancy test.
“hell nawl can’t do dis,” he responded, adding, “Get a abortion lol.”
The Instagram model replied, “Honestly I had an abortion with my son around 2 years ago and I regret it everyday.”
The athlete wrote back that he didn’t “want a kid” and encouraged her to “just take the pills.”
Throughout the exchange, which appeared to take place between November and early December, he asked her to “send da video” of herself taking pills to end her pregnancy.
Jordae also posted a screenshot of a pending wire transfer of $100,000 on Nov. 27, accompanied by Edwards’ alleged text, which read, “I will send you money to help you out.”
Jordae then issued a lengthy statement about the drama.
“I’ve never once ran to the internet about NO ONE,” she wrote. “I tried over and over to handle this privately and my efforts were ignored.
“I’ve been lied to and manipulated by someone who knows exactly what they’re doing and takes no accountability for anything,” she added.
Edwards, who recently signed a contract extension that could be worth up to $260 million, is believed to be in a relationship with Jeanine Robel.
After inking the deal over the summer, he took to his Instagram Story with a message for prospective female partners.
“All you females that think you gonna come up off a n—- from signing a contract, she the only one,” he said, before panning to Robel.
“She the only one that’s coming up. She new to the table, so I’m a little green for her.”
