She puts the boo in booze.
Blake Lively is being slammed by critics for launching an alcohol brand – despite admittedly not being a drinker herself.
“Drinking isn’t my thing. But for f* sake, flavor is,” Lively, 35, wrote via Instagram Wednesday, along with a photo where she is seen serving cans of her sparkling cocktail brand, Betty Booze.
“Homemade recipes. Real fruit. Real ingredients. Quality booze. No crap. Also a real time saver. Which is why I really did it. @bettybooze.”
The brand seems to be named after her and husband Ryan Reynolds’ 3-year-old daughter, Betty. They also share daughters James, 8, and Inez, 6, and welcomed their fourth baby in February. They’ve kept the name and sex of the their newest family member private.
Lively’s alcoholic beverages come in a line of flavors including Sparkling Bourbon with Apple Ginger Sour Cherry, Sparkling Tequila with Oak Smoked Lemonade, and Sparking Tequila with Lime Shiso.
“@bettybooze if you’re also tired. Or lazy. But like me, you still have an ego about what you serve. Or if you just appreciate your mouth. Any excuse counts…” Lively wrote in another post.
Critics were left scratching their heads over the “Gossip Girl” alum’s choice to launch an alcoholic beverage line after openly admitting that she doesn’t drink alcohol.
“If drinking isn’t your thing. Why does it have alcohol??” one confused netizen commented on the post.
“If just flavor is ‘your thing’ And not drinking, why oh why on Earth do you endorse an alcoholic beverage?” a second person echoed.
“I don’t get why you would promote alcohol if you don’t drink. So you can serve them to others at parties? Very odd choice,” a third wrote.
“So she’s smart enough not to drink alcohol but wants people to spend their $ on alcohol so she can get richer?” someone jabbed.
“If drinking isn’t your thing why not do a mock tail instead?” a fan suggested.
“How can you market/create a product you don’t openly consume yourself?
