Nicki Minaj said her 2022 Met Gala all-black Burberry outfit “cemented” her decision to get a breast reduction because her boobs were “spilling out.”
“I just realized just this moment that actually there was something good that came out of this,” she said while looking at a picture of her from that night during “Life In Looks” with Vogue.
“It’s what really cemented the fact for me that I had to get my breast reduction.”
The “Anaconda” rapper — born onika Maraj — said she did her fitting and “loved” the outfit, which consisted of a feathery bustier gown, leather leggings and a matching baseball cap, but she knew that her boobs were going to be a problem.
“I said, ‘You guys, listen, look these boobs are gonna be spilling out.'” she recalled.
“And by the time we were ready to go, I looked in the mirror, I said, ‘Guys, my boobs are still spilling out.'”
Minaj, 40, said after supermodel Naomi Campbell told her that they had to go she “knew before we even left the room that the boobs were about to have a night of their own.”
The night of the Met Gala, the “Barbie World” rapper talked about her busty display — which was covered with gemstones applied by Pat McGrath’s team — on the red carpet.
“The only unplanned thing about my look is my boobs popping out, because they made my cup size a little small,” she joked.
“Enjoy these titties, ’cause y’all ain’t gonna see that ever again.”
Minaj kept her word as she showed off her “new boobs” this past summer.
In June, the “Super Freaky Girl” emcee confirmed she underwent breast reduction surgery while flaunting her new cleavage in a selfie video while promoting her most recent collaboration with Ice Spice, “Barbie World.”
“New boobs who dis?” she wrote in the comment section of the Instagram post.
Although her latest surgery was something she wanted, Minaj previously shared that she regretted getting plastic surgery in the past.
“I guarantee you, if you change anything on your body and do anything surgical and all this, you’re going to — more than likely, not definitely, more than likely — look back one day and say, ‘I was fine just the way I was,’” she told host Chioma Nnadi on the “Run-Through With Vogue” podcast last month.
“And that’s what happened to me. I could not believe even some of the photos that I didn’t love.”
The “Super Bass” rapper said that she decided to go under the knife because she “didn’t like being skinny, having a flat butt … having boobs that didn’t sit high enough.”
She added, “It was a lot of things.”
However, Minaj said she believed her tune changed after she welcomed her son — whom she shares with husband Kenneth Petty and calls “Papa Bear” — in 2020.
“I think pregnancy could’ve played a role because seeing my son did remind me of myself so much. My real self,” she said.
“And it made me think why didn’t I like this? So weird. But seeing old photos, being able to look at old photos again made me realize, ‘These old photos are beautiful.’”
