Jamie Foxx’s April health scare has left his co-star Cameron Diaz “shocked and saddened.”
“One day they were working together [on the ‘Back in Action’ set], and the next he was just gone,” a source told People Tuesday of the comedian’s unspecified “medical complication.”
While the actress “wanted to be supportive and help out in any way … his family has kept his status very quiet” amid his recovery, the insider continued.
Diaz, 50, had taken a step back from acting when news broke that she had signed onto Foxx’s movie.
“Back in Action” began filming in December 2022.
In March of the following year, the singer, 55, made headlines for an alleged on-set “meltdown” in which he fired an executive producer, two directors and his driver.
After the “tantrum,” reports surfaced that Diaz planned to retire for good after wrapping and focus on raising daughter Raddix, a role she loves “more than anything in the world.”
Another source doubled down on this Tuesday, telling People that the movie’s schedule was so “intense and grueling” that the “Bad Teacher” star was “glad” to have wrapped.
As for Foxx, the Grammy winner has been out of the spotlight since his daughter Corinne told her Instagram followers he was “on his way to recovery” after being hospitalized in April.
The Oscar winner broke his silence via Stories in May, writing, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”
While Foxx’s rep has denied the complication came from a COVID vaccine — and Mike Tyson claimed he had a stroke — it remains unclear what the actor suffered from.
That being said, his family members have been spotted outside of a physical rehab center in Chicago.
Foxx’s former “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!” co-star Porscha Coleman assured an Entertainment Tonight reporter on Sunday that the “Django” star is “resting” and doing “well.”
The actress, 37, claimed, “He’s going to be back. Trust and believe.”
Pointing out Foxx’s habitual “privacy,” she noted, “If you’ve noticed, Jamie Foxx has always been on the low. … Even when it came to dating. … Foxx is doing it is how Foxx should be doing it.”
Her statement came two days after Pvnew reported Foxx is “recovering well” amid mounting concerns from fans.
