Britney Spears’ relationship with her mom, Lynne Spears, is reportedly on the mend.
An insider told People on Monday that the family matriarch is “really making an effort to be in Britney’s life.”
“Her mom does love her. There is no doubt about that,” the source said, adding that Lynne has been “very apologetic” and “takes full blame” for their strained relationship.
Despite the effort, the “Gimme More” singer “is still hurt because she feels her mom could have done more to help” throughout her 13-year conservatorship.
Although “Britney can be very stubborn,” the insider also shared that the pop star “has very few friends and really needs to just be with family.”
“Britney likes spending time with [Lynne],” the source said. “They have a complicated relationship, but it seems they both need each other.”
Britney and Lynne, 68, were most recently reunited at the “Toxic” songstress’ 42nd birthday celebration over the weekend.
The mother-daughter duo were also joined by the Grammy winner’s older brother, Bryan Spears.
A family snap posted to a fan page on Twitter showed the trio together as Britney smiled and hugged her mom.
Another picture showed the two cozied up on the couch, while a third shot featured the “Circus” hitmaker holding Lynne like a baby.
“They were two peas in a pod,” a source told TMZ after the party, adding they are “definitely in a better place.”
According to the insider, Lynne even spent the night with the Grammy winner.
Earlier this year, Britney revealed her mom came to visit her after years of not seeing each other.
“My sweet mama showed up at my door step yesterday after 3 years … it’s been such a long time,” she wrote on Instagram in May.
“With family there’s always things that need to be worked out … but time heals all wounds !!! And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT !!! I love
