It’s not all sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll for Ozzy Osbourne.
The Black Sabbath rocker, 74, admitted during an Osbourne family podcast episode that the antidepressants he takes has put a damper on his sexual urges.
“The one thing about antidepressants is it kills your sex drive instantly,” the “Crazy Train” warbler said on Tuesday’s episode of “The Osbournes Podcast.” “If you go on an antidepressant, with most of them, your sex drive goes.”
“Oh, for f–k’s sake,” Osbourne’s daughter, Kelly, 39, interjected, seemingly embarrassed by his admission, before asking if that was the case for men or women.
“I think it’s for both men and women,” her brother, Jack, 37, said. “But it’s not guaranteed, it’s just a possible effect.”
The heavy metal rocker, who has been married to wife Sharon since 1982, then joked that it’s not a possibility but a guarantee, prompting Kelly to share, “Dad’s basically saying, ‘I took antidepressants and it took my sex drive away.'”
“Every one that I’ve ever taken has just killed it,” Ozzy added as the family chuckled.
The musician has been open about taking antidepressants after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019 to help deal with the symptoms.
“I reached a plateau that was lower than I wanted it to be,” Ozzy said of his mental state in an interview with the Observer last year. “Nothing really felt great. Nothing. So I went on these antidepressants, and they work OK.”
Ozzy and Sharon, 71, have not shied away from discussing their sex life in the past.
In 2020, Sharon shared that the pair had sex “a couple of times a week.”
“We all know Ozzy was way oversexed,” she joked on “The Talk.” “That’s no secret. He had enough for all. It’s getting less. It used to be three times a day, but it’s much less now. Let’s say a couple of times a week, which is normal in a long, long relationship.”
Sharon went on to explain that sex changes in a mature relationship.
“Those goosebumps that you got changes to something else. It’s a warmth. It’s a respect,” she revealed “It is a feeling of love and comfort, so those butterflies change to that comfort.
“The thing is, if somebody moves you in a certain way, you love them. You make love. It’s the best thing in the world.”
The couple briefly split in 2016 when Ozzy allegedly cheated on her with a hairstylist.
Sharon has acknowledged that their marriage has been challenging.
“It’s not been easy, no relationship is easy,” she told E! News last September. “You have to work at it. You get your ugly times, your bad times and your horrific times. But if you love each other enough, you’ll work through.”
