Braunwyn Windham-Burke finalized her divorce from estranged husband Sean Burke on Friday after originally filing a year ago.
“Today feels like the first day of the rest of my life,” the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum gushed to People Friday.
“You know, you go your whole life with everyone telling you what you need to do to be happy. And it gets to a certain point where you say, ‘No, actually — this is what I want to do.”
She continued, “I’m going to live for me.’ And I’m thrilled that at 45 years old, I get a second chance to live for me.”
Sean and Braunwyn had been married for over 23 years and share seven children: Bella, 23, Rowan, 21, Jacob, 17, twins Caden and Curren, 10, Koa, 8, and Hazel, 5.
The news comes less than two weeks after Sean requested a reduction in the child support amount he has to pay the Bravolebrity, claiming she is only with their minor kids 1/3 of the time due to her “personal vacations.”
“Since this is half of the time we based child support on, I ask that it be adjusted to $3,000,” he wrote in the documents, which were obtained by Pvnew.
Braunwyn previously claimed in a December 2022 court filing obtained by Pvnew that her businessman ex cut her off financially, leaving her “unable to provide” for their kids.
“I have relied on [Sean] for all financial security since I was 20 years old,” she argued.
“I have relied on [Sean] to make all financial decisions for 23 years, and I have effectively been kept in the dark regarding the true extent of our business interests and assets.”
Now that her divorce has been settled, Braunwyn can focus on molding her new life with her fiancée, Jennifer Spinner.
The couple is moving into a new home in December after living with Sean in Tenessee — but they won’t be going far.
“It’s within walking distance [of Sean’s house] so it’ll just be better for everyone involved,” Braunwyn told People.
She and Spinner got engaged over the summer after having a last-minute commitment ceremony in Vegas in February.
“I’ve never been happier,” the reality star said at the time of her engagement.
“Jen is my person. She said to me once, ‘How much do you love me?’ And I looked at her and said, ‘It’s not how much I love you. It’s how small I love you. I love you on a molecular level.’”
