She’s already on to the next “good thing.”
Famously busy domestic doyenne Martha Stewart had to keep her historic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover under wraps until its release earlier this month — so much so, in fact, that she might as well have forgotten she shot it.
“I thought it was a big deal, but we’d been quiet [about it] for so long, I’d sort of lost interest until it came out,” Stewart, 81, revealed exclusively to Pvnew Style at The Sesame Workplace Annual Benefit Gala earlier this week.
The cookbook author added that she’s been “astonished” by the response to her glam shots.
“It’s been a phenomenal response,” she shared.
“Really phenomenal, and how lucky! It was a lot of work, and it was fun, and I think Sports Illustrated and my team and I are quite astonished.”
The homemaking maven made history as the oldest cover model in the magazine’s history, covering the bikini bible in a plunging one-piece.
“When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,’” she told the magazine, adding, “And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.”
The celebrity chef continued, “Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success, but what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what’s important and not your age.”
Stewart told the “Today” show that she “didn’t starve” herself in preparation for the shoot, but “didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple of months.”
Continued the star, “I went to Pilates every other day and that was great; I’m still going to Pilates every other day ’cause it’s so great. And I just, I live a clean life anyway — good diet and good exercise and healthy skincare and all of that stuff.”
Stewart has become famous over the last couple of years for posting sexy “thirst trap” selfies.
She has also vehemently denied going under the knife.
In 2022, Stewart responded to rampant speculation she’s had a facelift, telling the New York Times, “I have never had plastic surgery. You can absolutely say that. No knife on my face, neck or back.”
Instead, as she recently told Pvnew Style, she relies on a tried-and-true skincare routine, homemade green juice and a combination of “[working] your best angles” and “optimizing lighting” to look stellar in every snap.
