The “View” co-hosts have some strong opinions about Joe Jonas reportedly thinking his estranged wife, Sophie Turner, moved on “too soon” with aristocrat Peregrine Pearson.
“Since when does the ex get to decide when it’s too soon?” Sara Haines asked on Thursday’s episode of the ABC talk show before pointing out that Jonas was the one who filed for divorce. “And the ex exited out of this relationship.”
Haines, 46, added elsewhere in the segment, “Don’t comment on it at all. Like, it’s her decision. If she wants to go out and do her own thing, she can. If he’d like to go out, he can do his own thing.”
A source told the Daily Mail earlier this week that the Jonas Brothers member, 34, disapproved of the mother of his two kids passionately kissing another man in public within just two months of their marriage coming to an end.
Turner, 27, was spotted locking lips with Pearson, 29, in broad daylight in Paris last month.
“It feels a little too soon. He has no control over what she does and can only try to figure out the best co-parenting agenda for them both,” the insider told the outlet.
“If she is doing this to hurt him, she is not going to hurt him any more than she already has. He will get through it with his chin up.”
The source also claimed that Jonas is not looking for a new partner himself, although he would “be happy to find love again” but that idea is “not even close to what is on the top of his mind.”
“Joe feels that having his priorities in check and focusing on what is now and what is important is the way to move forward, and that is his obligation to his family and work,” the insider added.
Pvnew has reached out to Jonas’ rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
However, a source close to the situation tells Pvnew exclusively that any claims the “Cake by the Ocean” singer believes his estranged wife has moved on too quickly are untrue.
We’re told, though, that Jonas is “enjoying the time with his girls and touring with his brothers,” with the source simply adding, “He is happy.”
Haines’ co-host Sunny Hostin, meanwhile, said Thursday that she believes Jonas and Turner “got married too young.” The former couple wed in May 2019 when he was 29 and she was 23.
“They had kids right away, and she’s finding her groove right now,” the attorney added. “I mean, he filed for divorce. She didn’t.”
Joy Behar joked, “She’s supposed to join a nunnery just because she split with him? Go for it, girl. These are the wonder years.”
Hostin, 55, also praised Turner for seemingly landing a good prospect, saying, “She got a good little catch there, too. $273 million,” referencing Pearson’s family’s approximate net worth.
