Warning: Spoilers ahead
Would a serious person wear a little boy’s shirt?
“Succession” is known for making the concept of “quiet luxury” inescapable – but the HBO show’s costume department shocked fans who figured out Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy) wore a $7 Walmart T-shirt in the series finale.
While paying a visit to their mother in Bermuda to escape from his scheming siblings, Culkin’s character reverts back to childhood, lounging beachside in a T-shirt and shorts.
The @successionfashion Instagram account discovered that Culkin wears a Wondernation USA Boys Colorblock T-shirt, which was available in a 2-pack for $13.96, but has been bought up by eager fans trying to get their hands on perhaps the most affordable piece of clothing in the entire series.
“I can finally dress like a Roy,” one commenter quipped.
“This t-shirt made him look like a child and I know that was the intent,” another viewer wrote.
“WHEN was Roman in a Walmart?” one fan asked.
“I loooove thinking he left a shirt there when he was a teenager on vacation and found it in a drawer,” another commenter mused.
Another commenter mused, “100% turned up in a suit so they sent the help out to grab him something.”
It wasn’t just the Roy family wardrobe that took center stage during Sunday night’s Season 4 series finale; fans were left shocked by the twists and turns at Waystar-Royco.
Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy) revealed in the official “Succession” podcast to host Kara Swisher that the heartwarming kitchen scene in which Roman and Shiv Roy (Sarah Snook) whip up a disgusting drink for their eldest boy was the lost shoot of the series — and that he actually chugged the mixture in every take.
When all was wrapped, the two promptly shaved Strong’s head as an act of cleansing.
