Ryan Seacrest finds “Live With Kelly and Mark” to be “weird” following his exit.
“When the commercial comes on TV, it’s so strange to me,” the morning show’s former co-host admitted to Entertainment Tonight Thursday.
“It’s also weird when I say I’m going on ‘Live With Kelly and Mark’ and drinking from my ‘Live With Kelly and Mark’ mug,” he continued, joking that his coffee tasted “better” in the new cup.
Seacrest, 48, announced his departure from the show in February after six seasons as Kelly Ripa’s co-host.
(Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, replaced Seacrest.)
The “American Idol” host filmed his final episode in April — but returned as a guest less than a month later.
“It was so much fun to be back,” Seacrest told ET. “Mark and Kelly are phenomenal. We’re very, very close.”
While back on set, the radio host sarcastically told the couple about “this fascinating thing [he’s] been experiencing called ‘time'” since leaving the ABC series.
“I don’t know if you guys know about it,” Seacrest quipped during Monday’s appearance. “The alarm chimes in the morning, it’s a soft nudge.”
Ripa, 52, has had the morning gig since she replaced Kathie Lee Gifford as Regis Philbin’s co-host in 2001.
Philbin, who died in 2020, retired from “Live” in November 2011.
Ripa took over the primary hosting spot, and was eventually joined by ex-NFL pro Michael Strahan who was hired as her permanent co-host in September 2012.
Strahan and Ripa allegedly did not get along on set, which ultimately led to Strahan, 51, quitting in 2016.
Consuelos, 52, sat by his wife’s side as a guest host on multiple occasions before officially taking the helm last month.
Fans have shared mixed feelings about the show’s latest iteration as some social media users have blasted them for pre-recording episodes and showing too much PDA on air.
However, the “Riverdale” actor let negative reviews roll off his back and said working with his wife “felt so right.”
Ripa and Consuelos have been married since 1996 and share three children: Michael, 25, Lola, 21, and Joaquin, 20.
