The investigation into Matthew Perry’s death continues.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to Pvnew on Sunday that an autopsy was completed for the late “Friends” alum.
However, the doctor has ordered more testing, including toxicology.
As these results remain pending, Perry’s cause of death has been “deferred” for the time being.
The Emmy nominee died on Saturday at age 54, with his assistant finding him unresponsive in his Los Angeles home’s hot tub after an apparent drowning.
TMZ reported at the time that there was no sign of foul play.

The outlet also claimed that although illicit drugs were not found onsite, there were multiple prescriptions on the premises, including anti-depressants, anti-anxiety drugs and a COPD drug.
The actor has spoken candidly about his alcohol and opioid struggles over the years, detailing his sobriety journey in his “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing” memoir last year.
“Not only do I have the disease, but I also have it bad. I have it as bad as you can have it, in fact. It’s back-to-the-wall time all the time. It’s going to kill me,” Perry wrote in the November 2022 release. “Even on good days, when I’m sober and I’m looking forward, it’s still with me all the time.”
As the Golden Globe nominee’s loved ones and colleagues have flooded social media with touching tributes, many have credited Perry for helping beat their own addictions.
“As a sober person, he was so caring and giving and wise. And he totally helped me get sober,” Hank Azaria told his Instagram followers in a Sunday video. “I really wish he could have found it in himself to stay with the sober life more consistently.”
Perry’s pickleball coach, Matt Manasse, told People that same day that the “17 Again” star was “doing really well” and “trying to get people clean” before his passing.
While many of Perry’s “Friends” co-stars have honored him online, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc have yet to speak out.
The “reeling” fivesome are preparing a joint statement amid the “devastating” tragedy, an industry source told Pvnew over the weekend.
Perry is survived by five half-siblings, as well as parents John Bennett Perry and Suzanne Perry, who were photographed arriving at his home with Matthew’s stepdad, Keith Morrison, hours after his death.
