Matthew Perry fans are enraged over a former “SNL” writer’s tweets mocking the late “Friends” star’s death.
Kevin Brennan linked to a news story about Perry’s death and tweeted, “DROWNED IN A HOT TUB. HAHAHAHA.”
He doubled down on his so-called joke in a follow-up tweet denying that he poked fun at Perry’s tragic passing but added, “I just thought it was funny. But I do love it when junkies die.”
Fans flooded the “Misery Loves Company” podcast host’s accounts with responses of disgust and disdain in light of his insensitive commentary.
“Definition of a pathetic attempt to get attention right here. I didn’t know you existed until today and I can see why,” responded one user.
“Going to go forget about you now.. my life will be better for it.”
Another tweeted, “What the hell is wrong with you? You’re a pathetic little loser of a man.”
Others called Brennan, 63, “disgusting” and “gross” for his tweets while others described him as an “irrelevant hack.”
“I feel bad even giving you the attention you did this for,” wrote another Twitter user. “Funny thing is, if you drowned in a bowl of cereal, you still wouldn’t be a headline. I do however wish to read that headline.”
