Fans may have a hard time differentiating between Taylor Lautner and his wife, Taylor Lautner, but the couple’s families have mastered telling them apart.
“We’ve kind of got ‘Boy Tay,’ ‘Girl Tay’ going on,” Girl Tay said during a recent “Today” show appearance alongside Boy Tay, adding that their loved ones use the cheeky nicknames “even when we’re not together.”
In their lighthearted social media videos as well as on their mental health-focused podcast, “The Squeeze,” the actor refers to his spouse as Tay, while the nurse calls her husband Taylor.
The “Twilight” star married Tay, whose maiden name is Dome, in November 2022 exactly one year after proposing. The pair dated for three years before getting engaged.
Taylor, 31, explained to “Today” co-hosts Sheinelle Jones and Jacob Soboroff how he and Tay were introduced by his sister, Makena Lautner.
“Shortly after they met and became friends, [my sister] called me and was like, ‘I have this new friend, and I think she’s your future wife. You need to meet her,'” he shared. “She gets credit for that one.”
When asked whether she and her hubby’s younger sibling were “still friends,” Tay replied, “Oh, yeah. She’s my sister! She’s my only sister. I’m an only child.”
The health care professional, 26, also admitted that she “used to be” on “Team Edward” — Taylor’s on-screen rival in the “Twilight” film series — but switched to “Team Jacob” upon saying “I do.”
Last month, the movie star treated his blushing bride to the “best birthday surprise ever” — matching inner wrist tattoos of their “11.11.22” wedding date.
“Matching names wasn’t enough?” one Instagram user quipped, as another suggested the duo “should have just gotten the word ‘Taylor.'”
The actor previously dated yet another Taylor — Swift — for a few months in 2009.
