Britney Spears has a “fascination with knives” — and even sleeps with one under her bed, a new documentary claims.
TMZ founder Harvey Levin alleged in “Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom,” which aired Monday on Fox, that the pop star lives “in mortal fear” that someone will come into her home in the middle of the night, “strap her to a gurney and take her to a psych ward.”
One source told the outlet that Spears — who was involuntarily hospitalized twice in 2008 and sent to a mental health facility against her will in 2019 — has a “constant fear” of being “re-institutionalized.”
TMZ executive producer Charles Latibeaudiere also claimed in the TV special that the “Toxic” singer’s handlers received a “recommendation” to “keep knives away from” her at the end of her 13-year conservatorship.
Sources even went so far as to allege to the gossip site that Spears’ husband, Sam Asghari, should “be afraid to sleep without one eye open if she gets pissed” because she is “super capable” of hurting him.
This isn’t the first time the Grammy winner, 41, has been connected to knives.
Her estranged sister, Jamie Lynn Spears — who once pulled out a blade of her own during a restaurant fight — accused Britney of locking them in a room together while brandishing a knife in her January 2022 memoir, “Things I Should Have Said.”
The “I’m a Slave 4 U” singer later denied the incident ever happened.
Monday’s documentary made several other shocking claims about Britney, including that she “binge”-sleeps for days and has not seen her two sons, Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, in “well over a year” — the latter of which Pvnew /confirm/ied.
“The kids have been with [their dad] Kevin [Federline] full-time for a long time,” Latibeaudiere noted in the special. “Our sources say recently, there have been occasional texts between Britney and the kids. So maybe the ice is thawing a bit.”
TMZ’s sources further claimed that Britney is constantly hopped up on caffeine and guzzles Red Bull, Celsius, coffee and dandelion tea “by the gallons,” which she denied.
The documentary also explored the “Crossroads” actress’ marriage to Asghari, alleging that it is in “deep trouble.”
In response, the actor, 29, slammed the “absolutely disgusting” accusations and the outlet for putting his wife “under a microscope” for “clickbait.”
Britney was placed under a conservatorship after her 2007 meltdown, and all decisions regarding her personal, financial and medical affairs were placed in the hands of her now-estranged father, Jamie Spears.
More than a decade later, the fan-led #FreeBritney movement spread like wildfire, and her conservatorship was terminated in November 2021.
But since gaining her freedom back, Britney has continued to raise concerns for her well-being.
Worried fans even called the police to her home in January after she deactivated her Instagram account without explanation.
Cops determined she was not in any danger, and Britney subsequently slammed her fans who went “too far” and invaded her privacy.
“During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward,” she said at the time.
