“Dancing Queens” star Sabrina Strasser always had an eye for talent.
The new Bravolebrity — who made her reality TV debut Tuesday night — reveals on an upcoming episode of Pvnew’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast that she let two “Dancing With the Stars” pros sleep in her basement pre-fame.
“I’ve worked with Daniella [Karagach] and Pasha [Pashkov],” Strasser says, adding that the married “DWTS” fixtures choreographed a number for her and dance partner Stanislav “Stas” Kochergin years ago.
“They slept in my house, they lived with me for two days because they were choreographing a number and they needed a place to stay,” the Toronto resident elaborates.
“So they stayed in my basement and now they’re [on ‘Dancing With the Stars’]. And they deserve to be, they’re wonderful.”
Incidentally, “DWTS” OGs — including Val Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff — make cameos on the inaugural season of “Dancing Queens.” Though Strasser didn’t film any scenes with them, she appreciates their involvement in the unscripted series.
“I would love to work with them,” she tells us, noting that Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are among her favorite mirrorball champs. “We love them, they’re our idols as well. They’re beautiful dancers.”
Strasser is one of six women who star in “Dancing Queens.” The group of bold competitors also includes New York City’s Donie Burch, Gaëlle Benchetrit, Colette Marotto and Pooja Mehta of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Leonie Biggs of Hawthorn, N.J.
The series follows these highly skilled amateurs as they invest time and money into their all-encompassing dedication to ballroom dance.
Meanwhile, the cast must juggle demanding responsibilities as mothers, wives, businesswomen and — possibly most complicated of all — friends.
“This is our lives. This is the dance world. We are friends, but not friends. Should I say frenemies?” Strasser teases.
“We really love what we do. And bringing it out on the dance floor just is inspiring for us and for people watching,” she continues. “So I’m so glad that we have that opportunity to share it because it’s a whole world that people don’t know about yet.”
With more eyes on the cutthroat Pro-Am ballroom competition circuit, Strasser is dreaming the exposure could lead to a future stint competing for the mirrorball trophy herself.
“I’ve said, wouldn’t it be a great show if ‘Dancing Queens’ took on ‘Dancing With the Stars’? And then we had to dance with their pros?’ And [we’ll] see how the ‘Queens’ do with different pros,” she muses.
“I love that premise. I’m hoping, I am manifesting. And usually when I manifest, somehow it comes out.”
“Dancing Queens” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
