Kelly Ripa jokingly compared herself to female frogs after discovering they “fake their own deaths to avoid unwanted attention” from males.
“Let me just say they learned that from us,” Ripa told audience members after her husband and co-host, Mark Consuelos, shared the report on Friday’s episode of “Live with Kelly and Mark.”
Consuelos leaned into the bit and joked that he carries a “little mirror” next to the bed, so when Ripa is “faking her own death, I put it over her face to see if she’s breathing. If it fogs up, it’s gonna be a nice Friday night!”
“That’s why I’ve learned to hold my breath for 7 to 18 minutes,” Ripa quipped before bursting out laughing. “He thinks I’m dead constantly.”
Consuelos continued reading the study about how “amphibians are taking ghosting to the next level in their world by playing dead to avoid unwanted male interaction.”
“The frog will stretch out her arms and legs and act as if she were dead,” Ripa, 53, read while laughing and noted, “I gotta try that one. My death pose is too animated.”
Consuelos, 52, then mimicked Ripa “playing dead” by putting his arms in a 90-degree angle above his head and telling her she needs to be “more amplified.”
“Yes, I’m always afraid to stretch out though, because stretching out to you is sometimes — that in and of itself an act of…” Ripa said before Consuelos interjected, “That’s second base!”
“So gross,” Ripa said after the audience and Consuelos laughed.
Despite Ripa claiming she’s not always in the mood, she and Consuelos have previously gushed about their steamy sex lives.
“We can’t help it if we’re sexy!” Consuelos exclusively told Pvnew last week.
Meanwhile, Ripa added that it’s their jobs as co-hosts to talk about “the news of the day” and they have to talk about their own “stories.”
Consuelos replaced Ryan Seacrest as Ripa’s co-anchor on “Live” earlier this year, and ever since then, the duo hasn’t been shy about packing on the PDA and talking about more intimate moments.
Ripa previously raved that Consuelos’ penis size is “really good,” while Consuelos later praised her “perfect” body.
