Kellie Picker’s late husband Kyle Jacob’s cause of death has been confirmed nearly three months after his passing.
An autopsy report from the Davidson Country Medical Examiner obtained by Taste of Country Tuesday reinstated that the 49-year-old died from an “intraoral shotgun wound.”
Metropolitan Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron previously told The Post that Jacob died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
Per the Medical Examiner’s report, the late country music songwriter did not have any drugs in his system at the time of death.
However, it was noted that he had a history of “pseudoseizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated enzymes and chronic alcohol use.”
Jacob’s manner of death was not listed in Taste of Country’s report but it was likely ruled a suicide.
Pickler, 36, was in the home when her husband passed away.
According to a police statement, she woke up and when she couldn’t find her spouse, discovered that he had been in a separate room with the door locked.
It is unclear if the “American Idol” alum had been aware of Jacob’s mental health issues.
In the public eye, at least, he presented a positive and uplifting image.
The week he died, Jacob took to Instagram to commemorate a career milestone.
“Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together,” he captioned the cover of Lee Brice’s fifth album, “Hey World,” which he produced.
The talented musician concluded, “Deeply honored to be a creative part of it…Thank you Jesus!!!”
Pickler and Jacob were married from 2011 to 2023.
