Marcia Gay Harden revealed all three of her children are queer in an effort to raise awareness for LGBTQIA+ rights.
“What drives me is because it’s right, and what’s happening right now is wrong,” the “Mystic River” actress said during the “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” telethon in May 2023 while explaining why she supports the cause.
“My children are all queer,” she continued, adding, “They are my kids, and they teach me every day.”
Harden shares Eulala and twins Hudson and Julitta with her ex-husband, director Thaddaeus Scheel.
The former couple were married from 1996 to 2012.

Eulala Scheel
Eulala, who was born in 1998, is Harden’s eldest child.
The “First Wives Club” star shared during the “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” fundraiser that Eulala is non-binary. Per Instagram, Eulala uses “they/them” pronouns.
Like their mother, Eulala has been bitten by the acting bug. They made their acting debut in 2000’s “Pollock,” a film Harden starred in and received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Eulala has since been featured in at least six more projects, including roles in “Whip It” and “Workaholics,” according to IMDB. However, they seem to lead a low-key life, as their social media is private and they do not often make red carpet appearances.
Hudson Harden Scheel
Hudson was born in 2004.
He has been publicly out as gay since at least 2018, when his mom revealed why she was fighting for LGBTQIA+ rights at the Family Equality Council’s Impact Awards.
“The cause is dear to me, yes,” Harden told Us Weekly at the time. “My son is gay. I just want to make sure he gets to have a family when he wants one.”
Like his mother, father and eldest sibling, Hudson is also interested in the arts.
Per his private Instagram, he graduated from Interlochen, a school that offers an array of arts education programs designed to help students hone their skills, in 2022.
It appears Hudson is now enrolled in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, a world-leading conservatoire of music, drama, dance, production and film located in Glasgow. He is set to graduate from there in 2025.
Julitta Dee Harden Scheel
Julitta is Harden’s twin.
According to Harden, she identifies as “fluid,” which means her sexual orientation is not permanently fixed.
Julitta is also an actress and has landed roles in at least three different projects, according to IMDB. She made an appearance in “Trophy Wife” in 2014, “Code Black” in 2018 and had a recurring role in “Kidding” from 2018 to 2020.
In 2022, Julitta accompanied her mother to the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Harden shared on social media at the time that her daughter was the “best date.”
