Jeannie Mai is beyond “thankful” for having her 1-year-old daughter, Monaco, in her life as she works through her divorce from Jeezy.
“Monaco? That is my North Star. And I can definitely tell you that. I don’t know if I would handle this the same way without her,” the former “The Real” co-host said on “Sherri” Friday.
“Because today I’m able to look at her, and I can say, ‘What would I advise you if you were in my shoes?’ And it changes everything. So I’m so thankful to be a mom, and I’m thankful to have her.”
Host Sherri Shepherd echoed Mai’s sentiments, as she found comfort in her son Jeffery, now 18, while divorcing her ex-husband Jeff Tarpley.
“You go through stuff like this, and you look at your child and you go, ‘Thank you for this gift because I needed this gift right now,'” the former “The View” co-host, 56, shared.
Mai, 44, and Jeezy, 46, welcomed Monaco in January 2022.
The fashion expert married the rapper in Atlanta in March 2021 following her divorce from her first husband, Freddy Harteis.
In a shocking twist, Jeezy filed for divorce from the “How Do I Look?” alum in September, stating in court documents that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
The “Put On” artist, who signed a prenup with Mai, is seeking joint legal custody of Monaco.
Mai has yet to respond to her estranged husband’s filing because she is “holding out hope” for a reconciliation.
“[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced. This was not a part of the plan,” a source told Pvnew exclusively.
“This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.”
Earlier this week, the TV personality announced she would be taking a hiatus from social media to “heal.” Jeezy, meanwhile, has not publicly addressed the surprising split.
