This modeling family is making the Met their catwalk.
Kate Moss and her 20-year-old daughter, Lila, made a style statement when they hit the Met Gala 2023 red carpet tonight in Fendi.
They were joined by the Italian fashion brand’s artistic director, Kim Jones, who succeeded Karl Lagerfeld in 2020 after the famed fashion designer died in 2019.
Kate, 49, wore a Fendi Couture/Spring Summer 2023 look that was created exclusively for her by Jones, featuring a detachable pink sleeves and sexy lingerie-inspired lace.
She accessorized with diamond and morganite Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
Lila, meanwhile, paid homage to Lagerfeld with a dress from the Fendi Couture fall/winter 2018-19 gown by the icon himself.
“This dress is made of marabou feathers treated to appear as fur,” a statement from Fendi explained. “The voluminous shapes of the upper and lower sections are joint by a transparent, net, silk embroidered bustier.”
This marks their second joint appearance at the annual fashion fundraiser, which is themed to honor the legacy of legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld.
It’s an emotional night for the supermodel, who was close friends with the late Chanel designer.
After he died at the age of 85 in 2019, Moss teamed up with other Lagerfeld collaborators and muses including Cara Delevingne, Tommy Hilfiger, Lewis Hamilton and more to design white shirts — of which he owned hundreds — in his memory.
Lila, meanwhile, has never walked a Chanel runway, but she began her modeling career in 2018 and has since become a regular in ad campaigns and on the catwalk.
The Type 1 diabetic has shown off her insulin monitor in an ad campaign for Fendi and Versace’s 2022 collaboration as well as on the “Fendace” runway in September 2021, which her mom also walked.
For her Met Gala debut last year, Lila chose a sheer Burberry dress covered in crystals that revealed the pump on her thigh while Kate sported an off-the-shoulder velvet tuxedo gown, also by Burberry, with buttons marching down the front.
In addition to walking the red carpet, the iconic ’90s supermodel co-hosted a post-gala bash with Naomi Campbell last year, partying with everyone from Megan Thee Stallion to Leonardo DiCaprio.
We have a feeling this stunning mother/daughter duo will be having just as much fun tonight.
