Jessica Chastain shook fans when she swapped out her signature red hair for long platinum blonde locks at the Met Gala 2023 red carpet on Monday.
The “Molly’s Game” actress rocked the new hairstyle with loose curls that flowed to her waist.
However, Chastain emphasized to a news outlet that the new look is “not forever” and simply “for Karl” — referring to the theme “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” which pays tribute to the late designer.
Chastain, 46, went with a custom Gucci strapless black gown covered in tulle — including a long black tulle train with a layered bottom.
She accessorized her look with matching black tulle gloves that rose to slightly above her elbows, a long silver and diamond chain necklace and chunky black sunglasses that she took on and off for the snaps.
We’re told Chastain used only Charlotte Tilbury products for her classic glam and smokey-eye look.
Fans immediately took to social media to share their praise for her 2023 Met Gala look.
“god is a woman and her name is JESSICA CHASTAIN,” one fan tweeted.
“jessica chastain understood the assignment,” someone else raved.

“BLOND JESSICA CHASTAIN ARRIVED AT THE MET GALA IM GOING FERAL #MetGala,” another fan gushed.

“Jessica Chastain in [sic] blond. The gingers have lost their leader,” another user joked, referring to her traditionally red hair.
The “A Doll’s House” star joined other several A-Listers — including Olivia Wilde, Nicole Kidman and Gisele Bündchen — to honor Lagerfeld.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City will also debut an exhibition titled “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” which will include 150 looks designed by Lagerfeld over his more than 60 years in fashion.
